December 12 - I'm dreaming of a White Christmas

Day 12 - Share your idea of a perfect winter day and include a poem you wrote or a poem you love

I was born and used to live in Armenia where we had 3 or 4 severe and cold winter months with too much snow and sleets and blizzards.

We had fun as kids enjoying the snowball fights and building snowmen and tasting icicles. We would spend hours outside sledding and ice skating and would come home frozen and wet but extremely happy.

However, our parents had a hard time trying to keep both ends meet while keeping the house warm and paying for electricity and wood logs, thawing frozen water every day.

But one thing was undoubtedly the same, everyone was thrilled when it snowed on Christmas or New Year's Eve.

After I moved to Lebanon after my marriage, it was hard to feel the Christmas spirit with 20 degrees around while listening to "Let it Snow".
It was fine for the beginning until I recently started terribly missing the snow days and dreaming of my perfect winter day.

So this is what my perfect winter day would look like...

I would be back in Armenia in our house with my family.

It would be December 31, New Year's Eve.
It would start snowing just before the clock struck 12.
We would gather around the festive table and celebrate the New Year.
Then we would cuddle under soft blankets around the fireplace and drink some red wine.
In the morning we would wake up and look out the windows to find everything covered in white snow.
We would go out in the snow and have some fun catching snowflakes, making snow angels, snowball fighting or just running.
Then we would head back to the house to be treated to my mother's delicious dishes and some hot tea or coffee. We would spend the rest of the day watching Christmas concerts and movies.
